Dive Insurance & Travel Insurance

Peter Hughes Diving, Inc. strongly recommends that each guest purchase comprehensive dive, accident, medical, baggage and trip cancellation and interruption insurance when space is reserved. Trip insurance will protect you from financial disappointment if you are prevented from making your scheduled trip due to illness or family illness, or in the event that unforeseen circumstances prevent the vessel from making its scheduled trip. In an event where it is necessary to cancel or interrupt a charter due to weather or any matter beyond the control of Peter Hughes Diving, Inc., there will be no refund or credit issued. We also recommend diving accident insurance. Please inquire with our reservation office for assistance.

Dive Insurance covers divers in the event of a diving related accident. In the event of a dive accident, this insurance typically provides medical coverage, chamber treatment, air evacuations, and some minimal reimbursement of trip losses as well. Some policies are primary, while others are secondary and only pay after your primary health insurance has paid anything it will cover.

Travel Insurance (aka Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance) covers the diver from financial disappointment if they have to cancel the trip prior to departure for a covered reason such as: injury or death of immediate family member, weather or natural disasters, jury duty or subpoena, your principal resident becomes uninhabitable, or you are delayed due to traffic accident while in route to your departure. Different policies have different reasons they allow. It also provides coverage if your trip is cut short or interrupted due to a covered reason.

You can purchase Dive Insurance and Travel Insurance separately. You can also purchase some policies that combine the two.

Guests traveling on the M/V Sun Dancer II or the M/V Wind Dancer in the months of August, September, and October qualify for our REST EASY PROGRAM where Travel Insurance from DAN is included as part of your package upon submitting a registration form.
